I’ve tried experimenting with different blu-ray players(sony, samsung) and I still have it where the audio for some blu-rays is very quiet and others are normal. I have it all hooked through hdmi and left the audio at default settings. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Just recently I have noticed it struggles greatly to read lightly scratched discs. In order to test this, I put the disc in question in my Xbox 360 and it started right up. Is there something wrong with my player, and is there something I can do to fix this (other than the obvious answer of use your Xbox, or remove the scratches).

P.S. Reason I don’t want to use said Xbox is that it is quite loud.

I use a HDMI cable to connect the player and the TV. The problem that I encountered is that when I go to the player’s Easy Setup menu and set the output resolution to 1080p, the TV screen gets snowflake-like, faint but distracting noise. When I set it to 1080i however, the screen is clear and fine. What could be the cause of this? Thanks in advance for help and suggestion!

I am willing to if that is the only option I have…

But I would like to know if it is possible to connect my blu ray player to the internet using an ethernet connection to my laptop, hopefully being able to use the wireless card of the laptop to act as the receiver for the player.

Im wondering if I can hook it up to my older dvd/5.1 channel speaker system. DVD player is an AudioLogic, a few steps down to your typical sony. Im just confused, sounds weird to hook up a blu ray player to a dvd player and use the audio portion of it.
The older surround system doesnt have HDMI outlets on it.
